I was talking to this dude at Burning Man. He wasn't very much fun, kinda one track mind in his conversational ability. But he did say something that made me think. He said, I lived in the Mojave desert for years and I'm not here for the art or the parties, I just come to take care of people (from dehydration etc).
Made me think... What am I here for?
I'm not here for the art. The art is cool and all, but I'm not a super artsy kinda guy, and art 24x7 is a little much.
I'm not here for the alcohol or the parties. I drink less in a week at Burning Man than I do on a normal weekend night.
I'm here for the people. I'm here for the awesome sense of humanity that pervades the place. The sense that you're all just connected, and everyone is your friend, your brother, your sister.
My second burn had less of an immediate impact than my first. But it did give me more clarity about what I want, and that can't possibly be anything less than a great thing!

Proof that God Exists
Have you ever seen somebody working on a fence and takes a hammer and hit their thumb and go "Awww... Buddha!" You ever see them do that? How many hit a gold ball like I hit a golf ball and they go "Ohhh... Mohammed!" Why do they call that name? You know what they do? They go "Jesus Christ!" "Jesus Christ!" Why do they call that name? Because I believe when a person gets hurt or they get angry, they wanna blame who? They want to blame God.

Re Anger
From the final seconds of How I Met Your Mother, Season 4, Episode 6...
You may think your only choices are to swallow your anger or throw it in someone's face. There's a 3rd option. You can just let it go. And only when you do that is it really gone, and you can move forward.

Micro Blogging
I am lazy.
Blogging takes too much effort. I gotta sit and think and write stuff. And if I don't write enough, I feel guilty about not writing, and that makes me want to write even less. It's just a bad fit for a lazy dude like me.
Enter micro-blogging.
I fool around with on Facebook and Twitter all the time. So I'm just going to add feeds to my FB/Twitter profiles so that you have a more or less real time update about what I'm doing in my life.
Cos I know you're stalking me like that... ;)

2009
Wow, it's been a while since my last update.
I find that more and more, I gravitate towards short updates (eg facebook status updates) instead of writing a lengthy note. It's faster, more convenient, and I don't get caught up in "what do I write".
But anyway, it's 2009. New year and all that. My theme this year is "It's About Me".
Yes, I go through theme years. Last year was "I'm Perfect", where I mostly stopped doing self development courses and just enjoyed being me. The year before that was "Manwhore". No explanation needed there.
This year, it's about me being more in touch with my wants and being OK with wanting what I want, while at the same time being OK with not getting what I want. It's about acknowledging and empowering my own desires, without clinging on to some preconceived/assumed/desired outcome. And I'm not even talking about necessarily acting on my desires, after all there are many times when acting on your desires isn't the "right" thing to do (eg steal a car that I want).
Let's see where that takes me.
On the lighter side, I had a pretty good day yesterday. I haven't seen Master Hung (my ex TKD instructor) for about 2 years. We met up last night at his dojo, and had dinner. I saw Rob at the dojo. Rob was a white (or yellow?) belt when I stopped attending. Now, Rob is a black belt and is teaching the kids class. Very awesome. :)
