Deleting long Cingular voicemail

Raise your hand if this has ever happened to you...

There's one unheard voicemail on your phone. But the caller got creative and left you a 2 minute long ramble instead of a 10 second "hey, call me back" message. You wait and wait, and it seems like an eternity before you hear "Press 7 to delete this message". Is there a way to delete the message without listening to all of it?

YES THERE IS! Simply press 7 twice (ie 77) anytime during the message, and it will be deleted. Apparently, not even the Cingular customer service folks know about this one cos I've called up to ask them before.

By the way, read this too...

Thanks for the link! I am actually testing out a service from callwave now called callwave mobile. It replaces your cingular voicemail entirely. I am actually liking it pretty well. Best thing is that it sends you email attachments of you voicemails so you can forward those funny drunk dials from the middle of the night to all your friends! ;-)
