Each thread of life is like someone rolling a dice where a 6 on a dice roll means that something exciting will happen in that thread. If you have enough threads running through your life, odds are that at any instant, there will be one or more threads rolling up a 6. Have enough threads running through your life, and you'll never live a boring life.

Probability of a 6 = 1/6 = 17% (approx)
=> 17% chance of something exciting happening
If you have 4 threads, then you have ((1 - (5/6)^4) * 100%) = 52% chance of something happening at any given time. And if you had 20 threads, you'd have 98% chance of something exciting happening.
